Jharkhand, Assam, J&K leading

Last year’s runners-up Jharkhand along with Assam and Jammu and Kashmir were leading in the s category in 17th Senior National Woodball Championship jointly organised by Woodball Association of India and Maharashtra Woodball Association at RTM Nagpur University playground, here on Monday.

On the second day of the championship, Jharkhand took the lead with 264 points followed by Assam (273) and Jammu and Kashmir (276). Bihar (296) and Maharashtra (308) were at fourth and fifth place respectively.

Meanwhile, women team event matches were played on Monday evening session. The singles event in both categories will start on Tuesday.

Jharkhand 264 (Sarwar Ansari, 65, Ashok Debia 65, Bablu Mahto 63, Shubham Sharma 71), Assam 273 (Nipjyoti Das 66, Pradnyan Pram 85, Zahil-Ul 66, Raktim Bikjaw 56), Jammu and Kashmir 276 (Ansar Ahmad Aftab 51, Omar Mukhyar 78, Malik Rasik Autaf 85, Jahangir Bhatt 62), Bihar 296 (Nageshwar 66, KR Shubmah 63, Ankit Rajat 80, KR Yash 87), Maharashtra A 308 (Tushar Jadhav 74, M Rathod 75, Meet Trivedi 84, Vaibhav Jagtap 75).
