The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the results of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on July 18, bringing an end to the anxious wait for thousands of medical aspirants across the country.
Once the results are declared, candidates will be able to access their scorecards on the official NEET website using their application number and password.
Is 580 a Safe Score for Government MBBS Admission?
One of the most common questions among candidates is whether a score of 580 marks is sufficient to secure a seat in a government medical college.
Based on previous admission trends and expected cut-offs, candidates scoring around 580 marks could secure an All India Rank (AIR) in the range of approximately 5,574 to 5,792. With this rank range, aspirants may remain in contention for admission to several government medical colleges through both the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) and various state quotas.
Government Medical Colleges Where 580 Marks May Be Competitive
Candidates with scores around 580 may have a realistic chance of securing admission in institutions such as Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, under the Delhi University quota, and Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College of Aligarh Muslim University under the university quota.
