The construction of Chhatrapati Square Bridge has been delayed by 8 months. Earlier when the bridge was toppled, the authorities had stated that the work would be completed in a time span of two and a half years. However, it has been 8 month since then and the bridge is still under construction.
According to the sources, the authorities were unable to complete Road Under Bridges (RUB) on time due to six lane road linking in four lane road in Manish Nagar.
With only few weeks left for Assembly Elections, pressure is being laid on completion of Manish Nagra RUB and ROB in Manish Nagar.
Executive Director of Maha Metro Devendra Ramtekar informed that the dead line for completion of work was December 2019 but now that the statistics have changed the construction of bridge will be completed by January 2019.
Due to the ongoing construction since last 2 years, the residents along with commuters have been facing many problems like regular traffic jams, noice pollution, etc. So far they have been very supportive and cooperated with the authorities but now they cannot wait for the bridge to be completed.
