NMC dust off their hands from their responsibilities

In a shocking incident, the officials Nagpur Municipal Corporation have stated that NMC will take no responsibility if the house collapses.

Citizens of the city are paying hefty taxes to NMC but the officials are taking no efforts in enhancing the lifestyle of the people.

NMC will take no responsibility if the building or houses of any of the residents of the city are demolished or collapses. NMC officials have stated that “though ED is carrying out the work of demolition of the battered and unmaintained buildings it is the duty of the house owners to make sure structural audit are carried out as per the law on regular basis. Also as per the Maharashtra Corporation Act clause 265, it is the owner’s responsibility to make sure that the structural audit of the building from time to time”.

However, NMC will issue notices to the house owners of any building which is deteriorating and in shambles but even after the notices the owners don’t vacate the building or renew it and building collapses, NMC will be not be held responsible.

It should be noted that renovation and repairs of the building requires the permission of the NMC.

The release does not states anything, whether NMC will take any responsibility on any casualties caused if the house is collapses and what action will be take against the guilty house owners.
