Nagpur Municipal Corporation in collusion with  Orange City Cultural Foundation and Pune Film Foundation, Orange City International Film Festival will be organised at Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Auditorium, Persistent System, IT park, Nagpur on August 10 and 11. The film to be shown at the film festival “Shantaram†will be ‘Bapu Ka Bioscope’.
Honoured by “Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honour in the film industry, Shantaram began his career during the initial days of films. Under the productions of Prabhat and Rajkamal, Shantaram gave many excellent films to the audience. Apart from historical and mythological issues, films with social implications were a revolutionary step taken in those days.
‘Kunku’, ‘Shejari’, ‘Manus’, Dr. Kotnis ki Amar Kahani’, ‘Do aankh barah haat’, ‘Amarbhupadi’, ‘Dharmatma’, such popular films will be shown.
Bapu ka Bioscope, a film festival that is reminiscent of this era, is going to be a feast for Nagpur. The inauguration will be on Saturday, August 7, at 5 pm followed by a movie at 7.00 pm and Kunku at 4 pm, whereas Navrang will be shown on Sunday, at 1 pm which will be followed by ‘Do aankh barah haat’
Samar Nakhate, who played a child artist in the film ‘Do aankh barah haat’, will also be present to discuss the movie. Abhijeet Randev and Abhijeet Deshpande, film critics will also interact with the audiences.
The festival will conclude with movie ‘Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje’. The organisers have urged all the film lovers to avail the benefit of the film festival and make it a grant success.
