AIESEC in Nagpur hosted an event – World’s Largest Lesson (WLL) which aims to bring a change in the world by spreading awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals amongst children and young adults.
AIESEC is an international organization present in over 125+ countries. AIESEC India took an initiative to empower the maximum number of youth by educating them about the Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) in order to ensure that the future of our country is well on board with the issues we face and have a solution-oriented approach to ensure a better tomorrow.
As a local chapter, AIESEC in Nagpur also participated in this event where we partnered with three reputed schools in the city, namely, Jain Heritage A Cambridge School, Sandipani School Hazaripahad and Delhi Public School Lava.
The event started at 10 a.m. from Police Line Takli Ground where a total of 370 young delegates assembled. They were divided into 3 groups for three schools and were inducted. School buses then transported the delegates to the three schools. At 12:30 p.m. the delegates reached the schools and delivered an impactful session about the SDGs through various interactive activities and videos, post which, school students wrote promise letters to themselves as a realization to their actions.
The entire lesson delivery happened within one hour, not just in Nagpur, but across the country to ensure that the maximum number of students were impacted in one day.
The event was an outcome of a 5 month long rigorous process which was headed by Anisha Majumdar and her team of 9 Core Committee members namely, Varun Chopra, Atharv Kuthe, Vaidehi Nerkar, Tufel Sharif, Nishita Singh, Anmol Malaviya, Chaitanya Rathi, Junaid Sheikh and Mohil Mehra.
Through this event, a total of 3370 people in Nagpur were empowered in one hour leading to the event’s success. Paraangat Education and Genius Ninja were the goodwill partners for the event.
