A watchman of Poonam Mall in Wardhaman Nagar died after a portion of the building collapsed on Friday at midnight.
The deceased identified as Jaiprakash Sharma was on duty watchman had sustained serious injuries after the incident. He was admitted to Radhakrishna Hospital where the hospital authorities declared him brought dead.
Few people present in the mall building informed the Fire and Emergency Services Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) who rushed to the spot. The area around the mall building was cordoned off.
According to sources, the wall of the massive structure developed cracks but was being neglected by the authorities.
