Poonam Mall’s owner N Kumar Hirachandani has filed an application in the sessions court to get anticipatory bail in the FIR filed against him in the Poonam Mall accident case. His plea is likely to be heard on Wednesday.
On August 16, a watchman named Jayaprakash Sharma had died after a wall of the mall collapsed. Two others- Muktabai Gajbhiye and Nandkishore were injured.
In the case, the Lakadganj police have registered an FIR against N. Kumar and others under sections 304, 337, 247 and 34 of IPC.
The police have started searching for N. Kumar. His residence in Byramji Town was searched on Sunday. Also, a notice has been pasted at his house asking him to appear before the police for investigation. In view of the possibility of being arrested, N. Kumar has moved the court seeking anticipatory bail.
