The Zoroastrian religious minority accounts for majority of the ethical and proverbial highly qualified, talented individuals who have given back to their country selflessly in gratitude for what the country has done for them. This religious minority Institution too is in many ways trying to live up to the ideals for which the founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata is known as he is known to have said:
“There is one kind of charity common enough among us…. It is that patchwork philantrophy which clothes the ragged, feeds the poor, and heals the sick. I am far from decrying the noble spirit which seeks to help a poor or suffering fellow being… {However}what advances a nation or a community is not so much to prop up its weakest and most helpless members, but to lift up the best and most gifted, so as to make them of the greatest service to the country.†This can only happen through Education in the most disciplined and ethically, morally sound atmosphere considering the scenario today.J.N. Tata Parsi Girls’ High School since its inception in 1920 has had a progressive and goal oriented excellent meteoric rise in the field of education with excellent achievements in academics, sports and cultural activities. J. N. Tata Parsi Girls’ High School and Junior College, commences the Centenary Year Celebrations on 24th August 2019 with a ‘Jashan’ (Parsi Thanksgiving Prayer) and a musical ‘Symphony Fest’ performance by the students of the school and thereafter by Shri Niranjan Bobde and his troupe in the evening from 5.30 onwards.
Our Institution, true to the hallowed and Iconic name it bears, of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata who pioneered the Industrial Revolution in India, has progressively tried to serve the cause of education of the girl child since 1920. The School has carved a niche’, is one of the oldest Institutions and an enviable reputation for a sound education in a disciplined atmosphere. Those students who have achieved distinguished ranks and done their Alma-Mater proud are all across the globe, winning places in public life on merit against stiff competition because of the values and ethics as a sound foundation. They keep in touch using the boon of technology. The school owes a debt of honor to them.
The Junior College was started on August 01, 2012 with 7 students and today, by the grace of Ahura Mazda, unstinting support of Trustees and determination of the Team of teachers and staff and co-operation from parents and students, it has 150 students this academic year, and still counting.
With the encouragement of the Trustees and the inspiring Leadership of the successive Principals, the school has achieved so high a standard in curricular and extra-curricular activities and maintenance of discipline that it has become proverbial, to say the least. Nothing would be possible without the confidence of the Parents, the vision of the leader, the untiring and exemplary Team Work of the staff (both teaching and non-teaching) and the unflinching love of the students, then and now, have taken the school to tower heights, flag flying high in the sky of Maharashtra and Nagpur in particular.
