Senior Journalists Joseph Rao and Dharmendra Jore have been selected for 2018 Anil Kumar Memorial Award. The award, instituted by Vidarbha Gaurav Pratisthan and Nagpur Union of Working Journalists, is bestowed on two journalists in recognition of their glorious services in the media sector.
It comprises of a cash prize of Rs 21,000 and a memento. Rao retired as Bureau Chief, Press Trust India (PTI), at its city unit, and is working in Journalism for the past two decades, handling general reporting, sports beat effectively over the years.
He is currently working for the Asian Age. He also worked with ‘Nagpur Times’ and also with Nav Bharat.
As to Jore, he is currently working as Political Editor, Mid-Day, at Mumbai. He hails from the city having made his mark earlier in sports reporting and thereafter handling various assignments in Hindustan Times in Mumbai and now at MidDay and has rich experience in Journalism fields of nearly 30 years.
The awards will be conferred on Rao and Jore on the death anniversary of Anil Kumar on September 13 during a ceremony to be held in the city, informs a release issued here.
