Arun Jaitley (66), Former Union Minister and Senior BJP Leader, passes away at AIIMS today, informed AIIMS, New Delhi.
Jaitley was admitted on August 9 to AIIMS in Delhi after he complained of palpitations and restlessness. He was then treated by a multidisciplinary team of senior doctors. Later he was placed under observation at the hospital’s Cardio-Neuro Centre.
In May this year, Jaitley was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Earlier, citing health reasons, he did not contest the Lok Sabha elections. In 2018, Jaitley went a Kidney transplant at AIIMS.
After BJP’s victory, Jaitley wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he would like to stay away from any responsibility on account of his ill health.
