To educate the management students of Tirpude college, a month-long competition has been started by the college authorities on August 26. The inaugural event was held at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall, Civil lines at which students were competing in a dance competition which was followed by a fashion show.
The Tirpude Premier League (TPL), which is a skill development program has more than 14 teams competing for the first place. All the teams have students from first, the second and third year of BBA and BCCA divided into teams named such as Eagles, Mustang, Gladiators, Trojans, and several others.
The first day of the event saw a number of performances in the dance competition and fashion show for which the theme was Rudra and Matsya for a Fashion show and freestyle Bollywood for the dance performances. Students had a makeover as Aghoris and were also seen dressed up as babas wearing a saffron dress.
Sarang Warudkar, a professor of Operation and Research in Tirpude College and also the faculty member of TPL said, teams like Trojan and Gladiators have already set an example by previously winning the competitions several times and have made a reputation for the coming batch. These teams have handed over a heritage of TPL to their juniors.
The teams have a senior managing group called Warlords, who look after the actions and also maintain the discipline. These warlords work under four students who are called overlord. The team of warlord has more than 20 students managing and coordinating the competing teams, whereas the competing teams have 50 students in each team. The whole development program has around 800 students associated with it, who are separated into competing teams, managing teams and the senior-most team overlord based on their managing skills and understanding.
