Shiv Sena youth leader Aditya Thackeray today remained tight lipped over contesting the forthcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra. “I am not leaking the paper on my maiden fight in Assembly polls in State, it is for the people to decide which responsibility they want to give and from where to contestâ€.
The issue of the member of Thackeray family entering electoral politics is being hotly debated across the political circles in Maharashtra and Aditya managed to keep his cards close to heart. The junior Thackeray was however critical of BJP led government saying the farmers’ suicides have remained unabated, the economic recession has badly hit the business and trading and the unemployment of youths was posing a great problem.
Fully knowing that Shiv Sena is an alliance partner of BJP in the Government in Maharashtra, Thackeray was vocal on the issues. Reiterating that Shiv Sena was committed to the wellbeing of farmers always and because of mounting pressure from Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, the Maharashtra government was compelled to waive off the crop loan and also followed up the Crop Insurance scheme. This has resulted that about 10 lakh farmers have been benefited by the Crop Insurance scheme.
He said Sena’s Jan Ashirwad (blessings of people) was aimed at seeking blessings of the people. The Sena was engaging youth, women and farmers in direct communication. Their educational problems, health issues would be addressed through the Yatra.
He called on Maharashtra government to assure unemployed youths of employment opportunities at a time when many people are losing jobs due to economic recession. On the possible pre-poll alliance with BJP, Thackeray said except Uddhav Thackeray and Chief Minister only know the fate. No one in Sena talks about an alliance, not even Ministers.
