Like the city, welcome Lord Ganesh on Monday City Cops is all prepared to take extra care and precaution in the bandobast of the city.
This year around 1,100 Ganesh Mandals is installed in the city for which cops have been deployed to provide security for the people for a Hassel free darshan.
Not only this but the cops will also check on the level of noise and would keep a close eye on noise pollution.
The 10-day festival which is celebrated with enthusiasm will keep the traffic on its toes as the Traffic Control Branch will play a crucial role in clearing traffic during peak hours from main areas.
City police have decided to keep four special squads like QRT, State Reserve Police Force Patrols (RPS)on stand-by at Control Room.
Along with these five Deputy Commissioners of Police heading five respective zones, 10 Assistant Commissioners of Police, 56 Police Inspectors, 206 AssistantPolice Inspectors/Sub- Inspectors (APIs/PSIs), the force would also rely on 1817 male constable and 277 women constables.
In addition, 700 male and 300 women home guards to would be deployed at essential places to handle the crowd.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, and their team also would be keeping an eye on the situation in the city to ensure a trouble-free celebration.
Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kadam and Commissioner of Police Dr. B K Upadhya will be monitoring the entire situation and will get inputs from two Additional Commissioners of Police who will be supervising bandobast in North and South Zones respectively.
Extra police personnel are deployed in Chitar Oli, Cotton Market, Ganesh Tekdi and other places and will be closely watched by the cops.
