The National Nutrition Month is being celebrated across the country to mark the fight against malnutrition. During this month, various programmes are being organized to spread awareness on the issues related to malnutrition.
Nutrition Society of India, Nagpur Chapter had organised a workshop on Nutrition Awareness at Nutan Bharat Vidyalaya and Bharat Prathmik Day Boarding School recently.
Mrs. Priya Bajaj, Clinical Dietitian at Dr. Jay Deshmukh’s Sunflower Hospital, informed the students about the importance of nutritious food and healthy habits. She also explained about the essential nutrients and stressed on the importance of eating wholesome and homemade food.
Dr. Renuka Mainde, Secretary, Nutrition Society of India, Nagpur Chapter, Mrs. Meghna Pandit, and Mrs. Pradnya Bagalkote, members NSI, NC were prominently present at the occasion.
A snack of gud and futana was distributed to the students to drive home the message of healthy eating. Budding sportspersons were also felicitated at the event for their excellent performance in the field.
Principal Nutan Bharat Vidyalaya, Dr. Vandana Badwaik, Head Mistress Bharat Prathmik Day Boarding School, Rajshri Chavhan, along with the staff members appreciated the efforts of the organizers. Nutan Bharat Vidyalaya was set up by Ramesh Bakshi. The school aims to provide quality education to underprivileged students.
