Recently the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court has given a whiplash for RTMNU by levying Rs 50000 after a petition was filed by Laxmanji Motghare Charitable Trust against the university.
The trust runs Dr Arun Laxmanrao Motghare College situated at Bhandara.The trust had applied for granting affiliation to MSc (Chemistry) course to be launched in the year 2019-20.The expert committee had inspected the college for various fulfillments of the basic conditions for granting the affiliation and found four shortcomings and hence the affiliation was refused.
The Trust claimed that the shortcomings were sorted out during the pendency of the petition and demanded that the affiliation may be granted after conducting inspection again.
After the court order, the expert committee inspected and reported that one lacuna they found that the scarcity of books related to the subject. And the court had termed the action of the university as being vague and non-committal and hence passed the ruling of paying cost of suit Rs 50000 to the petitioner trust.
