Under the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign, a plastic eradication rally was organized at various places in the city. Mayor Nanda Jichkar launched the campaign and showed a green flag to the rally held from Durga Temple Pratapnagar to Mate Chowk on Wednesday.
Additional Commissioner Ram Joshi, Education Committee Deputy Chairman Pramod Tabhane, Laxminagar Zone Assistant Commissioner Raju Bhivgade, Zonal Officer RM Tidke, Varsha Chaudhary, Anusya Gupta, Vandana Sharma, Renuka Kashikar, Madhuri Indurskar, Mr. Suradkar, Lina Budhe, Kanchan Satpute, Harsha Kapgate, Arutuja Rahangadale, Shubhangi Padole were prominently present on this occasion.
Mayor urged that single-use plastic should not be recycled and that the use of such plastic is stopped completely. To create awareness on the use of plastics rally was organized from September 11 to October 1, wherein the plastics garbage is been collected from the public. The purpose of this campaign is to send the plastic collected from the citizens for the necessary recycling process and to celebrate a plastic-free Diwali this year.
