Booking tickets are becoming a headache for the passengers as the Ajni Passenger Reservation System (PRS) work very slow during the peak time. And the passengers are facing difficulties in handling the situation.
The rush at Ajni (PRS) is increasing as compared to main station as people prefer to visit here in view of the mid-city location and easy access.
There are total four ticket counters at Ajni PRS and one is reserved for senior citizens, leaving only two for general citizens while the fourth one remains closed as booking clerk is engage in distributing tokens instead of ticket booking. Between 9 am to 10.30 am when one counter is closed the rush in other queues increase.
Yadav, Member, Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC), stated that the problem with the lethargy in ticket windows is that with delay in booking tickets, the waiting on train tickets also increases. For travellers, despite reaching early they have to wait in the queue and eventually when they get ticket they found themselves in last numbers in the waiting list.
He also added that they discussed the matter with Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Somesh Kumar, and informed him of difficulties faced by the travellers at Ajni PRS and requested to open additional counters before the peak season of travelling starts.
