An interesting insect walk was organized by Gorewada Forest department for the college students of Nagpur city on Sunday.
The motive behind organizing such programme was to give the students a unique experience to explore the flora and fauna of Gorewada reserve forest.
Students of Hislop College, Mohata Science College, forensic Science College and Seva Dal Women’s college actively participated in this programme. An entomologist Shubham Chapekar said, “The idea behind insect walk to make students aware about identification and importance of insects.
RFO Pandurang Pakhle said that Gorewada nature trail is busting with biodiversity. One can witness bug marks of leopard, various species of birds, reptiles, butterflies, insect and wild flora. This is the best season for wildlife lovers the Gorewada nature trail.
The insects that were found during the insect walk programme in Gorewada nursery was, Dragonfly species, damselfly species, butterflies, moth, Honeybee and vaps, robber fly, Millipedes, etc.
Divisional Forest Officer, Nandkishor Kale, Gorewada RFO, Pakhle, Senior project officer WWF-India Ajinkya Bhatkar addressed the students during the programme.
