CPS Amt Bypass sizzled at the CBSE Cluster IX Basketball State Level Championship conducted by Arya Public School, Pimpalner, Solapur which was held from September 7 to 10th, 2019 at Pimpalner, Solapur District.
Around 108 boys teams and 38 girls teams participated in the competition in Under-17 and Under-19 category. Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass entered the competition in Under-17 category and played brilliantly giving tough fight to the opponents and ended up with Runners Up trophy. The CPS Amravati Road Bypass Cagers performed superbly in the qualifying matches defeating some of the core teams like Sunflag Bhandara, Shantiniketan Kolhapur, Dhruv Academy Sangamner, KEL English School Solapur. In the semi-finals, they defeated our very own CPS Katol Road to enter the finals. Though the boys lost to Millenium School Pune in the finals, they left their mark on the basketball court and earned praise from one and all with a quality display of teamwork, skill and energy.
The Team: The team comprised of Taaran Kakkad, Aditya Sharma, Kushal Agrawal, Aayush Gorle, Shreyansh Mohanti, Tanish Agrawal, Mohd. Furquan, Rujul Dani, Ayush Chhabriya, Pranmya Menaria and Aryan Agrawal.
Boys Team – 1 st Match: The first match was held between Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass and Sunflag, Bhandara. Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass won the match. 2 nd Match: The second match was held between Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass and Shantiniketan School, Kolhapur. Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass won the match.
3 rd Match: The third was held between Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass and Dhruv Academy, Sangamner, Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass won the match. Quarter-Finals: The quarter-final was held between Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass and KEL English School, Solapur, Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass won the match. Semifinals: The semifinal was held between Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass and Centre Point School, Katol Road. Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass won the match.
Final match: The final match was between Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass and Millenium School, Pune, where Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass lost the match, securing the second position.
Taaran Kakkad and Aditya Sharma played very well. The coach Ms Swati Kadoo Bhalerao applauded the efforts of the players. The children extended their thanks and gratitude to their parents. The entire CPS family wished them luck for the future events.
