Kasturi Tamankar and Yash Sharma, both from City Premier College win annual cycle race competition that was organised on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi jointly by Dr. Madhukar Rao Wasnik PWS College and Rajkumar Kewalramani Kanya Mahavidyalaya.
In the girl’s section, Kasturi was followed by Shweta Wasule (SBCT) and Neha Bajeriya of VMV College for the second and third places respectively.
In the boy’s section, Nilesh Giri and Badal Jabe, both the students of PWS College finished runners-up and second runners-up respectively. Pro Vice-Chancellor, R.T.M. Nagpur University Dr. Vinayak Deshpande was the chief guest of prize distribution function. Member of Management Council, R.T.M. Nagpur University Dr. Nitin Kongre was the guest of honour.
NSS Co-ordinator Dr. Kesahv Walke, President, Sindhu Navyuwak Mandal Prof Vijay Kewalramani, principal of Rajkumar Kewalramani Kanya Mahavidyalaya Dr. Urmila Dabir, Principal of Dr. Madhukar Rao Wasnik PWS College Dr Yeshwant Patil, Prof. Atmaran Pande Dr. Yagya Singh of Rajkumar Kewalramani Kanya Mahavidyalaya were present on the occasion. This year 130 boys and 75 girls participated in the race. The total prize money given was Rs. 15, 000 and 6 cycles which were jointly collected by the teachers and nonteaching staff of both colleges.
