LAD College win bronze in State DSO U-19 badminton

LAD College Won Bronze in State DSO Badminton | Nagpur Sports News

Nagpur: LAD and SRP College for Women team won Bronze medal in the Maharashtra Inter-School Under-19 State Badminton tournament, organized by the Akola District Sports Office, at the Vasant Desai District Sports Complex in Akola recently.

In the third-place play-off for the bronze medal, LAD College, representing Nagpur Division, outclassed Aurangabad division 2-0.

Devika Kawale won the first singles quite easily against Madhura Pedgaonkar of Aurangabad beating her 21-8, 21-9.

Then the pair of Chaitali Nayse and Bhargavi Rambhad trounced Aurangabad division duo of Madhura and Shreya 21-3, 21-5 to clinch the third spot.

In the semifinal, eventual champions Pune division beat Nagpur division 2-0. Siddhi Jadhav downed Devika 21-12, 21-18. Siddhi and Tanishka Deshpande edged past Chaitali and Bhargavi 21-14, 21-18.

Earlier in the quarterfinal, Nagpur division ousted Kolhapur division 2-0 to book their berth in the last four. Devika thumped Arya Ghadge of Kolhapur, while Chaitali-Bhargavi got the better of Arya and Shradha Chopra.

Besides Devika, Chaitali and Bhargavi, the other members of the LAD College team were Kaveri Kashikar and Aishwarya Pimplapure. Anuradha Nathile accompanied the team as the manager.
