The Returning Officer of South-West-Nagpur Assembly Constituency finally rejected few objections raised by a section of people against the nomination of Davendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister who is seeking one more term from the Constituency.
On the day of Scrutiny, Congress nominee Ashish Deshmukh along with Prashant Pawar contended that the Notary’s term expired on December 28, 2018, and the affidavit has been signed on October 3, 2019, which they argued was improper and the nomination should be rejected.
Sandeep Joshi, the trusted hand of Fadnavis who is leader in the House in Nagpur Municipal Corporation clarified that Notary’s term was extended for five years December 29, 2018, and thus the objections are liable for outright rejections. Accordingly, the R.O rejected all such complaints regarding Notary’s term expiry.
The R.O also rejected complaints of advocate Satish Uikey whose objections were about the style of functioning of R.O. He directed the lawyer to approach the competent authorities to pursue the complaint.
