Nagpur District Hardcourt Tennis Association(NDHTA) Â is conducting MSLTA-Yonex Sunrise All-India Under-14 Tennis Tournament in association with MOIL from October 14 at MSLTA Tennis Academy, Ram Nagar.
Addressing media persons NDHTA secretary Dr. Sudhir Bhiwapurkar said this season the association is conducting the three major tournaments including Under-14 Championship Series from October 14, Under-16 Championship Series from November 18 and Under-12 Super Series from December 9.
He said the sign-in of the Under-14 tournament will be held on October 11 from 12Â noon to 2 p.m. followed by qualifying matches on Saturday and Sunday. The main draw matches will start on October 14. Dr. Bhiwapurkar said the players from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh apart from Nagpur are participating in the tournament. So far 43 boys and 18 girls have confirmed the participation.
Director Finance of MOIL Rakesh Tumane will inaugurate the tournament. AITA supervisor Supriya Chatterjee will be the in-charge of the tournament whereas Dr Bhiwapurkar will be the tournament director. NDHTA treasurer Vijay Naidu is the tournament secretary. Daily allowance of Rs 400 will be paid to the players as per AITA rules. The entry fee for the tournament is Rs 600 for singles and Rs 700 for doubles.
Winners, runners-up and semi-finalists will be given trophies. Apart from its certificates will be given to all the participants.
