While the whole city is lightened up for Dussehra celebration along with Dhamma chakra Pravartan diwas, the city roads and traffic unmanageable beyond its limits. Half of the most used routes of Nagpur city have become a no-entry zone for vehicles as people from outstation have come to the city to be a part of Pravartan Diwas and will be staying in the vehicle restricted areas.
The area near Diksha Bhoomi including Bajaj Nagar, Kachipura and other nearby areas are totally crowded and full of travellers. These areas are also restricted for the vehicles. Countering these routes the regular commuters of these areas have to choose another road which is causing heavy traffic in areas nearby to the restricted route.
Areas like Dharampeth, Shankar Nagar, Canal Road are mostly affected by the traffic. During the rush hours, Shankar Nagar saw a mass gridlock. The vehicles were jam-packed in a line of more than a kilometre. Even the Canal Road saw heavy traffic during which no police assistance was served. All the routes that joints Canal Road were heavily packed, the route from Panchsheel Square to Central Mall saw a massive blockage and crisscrossed vehicle jam.
