Medium-pacer Darshan Nalkande’s devastating spell (4 for 25) helped Vidarbha to thrash Haryana by nine wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match at Vadodara on Tuesday.
Batting first Haryana were bundled out for a poor total of 83 in 30.5 overs. Thanks to Nalkande who ripped through the batting line up and triggered the collapse. He was ably supported by Yash Thakur, spin duo Akshay Wakhre and Akshay Karnewar who claimed two wickets each. For Haryana, only AR Mishra( 26), Yazuvendra Chahal( 20) and HJ Rana (14) crossed the double-digit.Â
In reply, Vidarbha chased the target losing just one wicket in just 20.4 overs.
Left handed Faiz Fazal (38) and skipper Wasim Jaffer (32) remained unbeaten and completed the formalities.
This is Vidarbha’s first victory after suffering back to back defeats.
