Senior Congress leader and AICC Spokesman, Manish Tiwari today countered the BJP move to award Veer Savarkar with the highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna and advised the BJP not to resort to such a low. Indeed, why Savarkar, he asked adding why by Nathuram Godse.
Tiwari said it was revealed in Kapoor Commission findings that Savarkar was in the know of the killing of Mahatma Gandhi by Nathuram Godse. The Bank frauds in the country particularly referring to PMC Bank in Mumbai, Tiwari said it was reflecting our banking discipline and sending a wrong message to the foreign investors that even Banks are not safe for the public who deposit their hard-earned money there. Three deaths have been reported in related to PMC Bank scam, he said. For foreign investors, it was not at all a safe destination, he noted.
