The University Grants Commission (UGC), has directed all the higher education institutions to take serious steps to fill up vacant faculty positions. UGC has also warned institutions of taking appropriate action against institutions delaying recruitment.
UGC in its letter to all the Vice-Chancellor of the deemed university said that all the Universities, Institutions, Colleges are expected to adhere to the UGC Guidelines for recruiting faculties and fill the vacancies as early as possible.
As the shortage of quality teaching faculty in Higher Education Institutions is one of the major concerns and require immediate attention, in order to improve the quality of education these steps are taken by the UGC.
Colleges, Institutions, are also requested to do the needful on or before November 10. Any delay in filling up the vacant positions will be viewed seriously and may lead to appropriate action by the UGC against such institutions reads the letter.
