Diwali celebration is on and so are the incidents, Jafar Nagar became the first area to be reported of a minor fire incident that took place on October 27, on the first day of Diwali. Being the beginning of a festive season a minor incident came to light because of an 18-year-old brave girl, Sania Tabassum who alerted the residents and then the cops about a fire incident.
According to reports, Tabassum was standing in her balcony when a rocket landed inside a flat situated on the third floor. The incident took place at or around 11:30 in the night of which Tabassum asked her younger brother Tarik to alert the neighbors. Both the siblings managed to alert everyone around them and even the control room of police department and fire department. The flat was seen burning as the clothes, AC duct, wire circuit other things like plants and grass were caught by fire. When the residents reached the flat the main door of the entrance was locked which was later broken and somehow the fire was doused. It took 30 to 40 minutes to totally extinguish the fire for the residents before the police and fire department reached.
Rajendra Uchake, chief fire officer said “The city reports around 15 to 20 incidents of fire every year during the Diwali season but this year it has decreased to a minimum level as half of the city is drenched and the whole city somewhat moist. Due to the recent rains no serious fire incident was noticed in the cityâ€.
