A laudable act indeed, recently some magnanimous citizens of Nagpur have collected around Rs 4 lakh to help an economically weak student to accomplish his dream of overseas education. As per the information, the student named Rahul Chaure couldn’t attend regular college and so completed his graduation from Indira Gandhi National Open University. His father is a waiter in a beer shop while his mother is no more. A brilliant student with good academic record, he has got a scholarship to pursue masters in clinical psychology from the University Aberdeen in Scotland. But the indigence has created obstacles to arrange his air tickets, visa, and one month accommodation charges till the government releases the funds.
And when some good Samaritans of  Besa came to know about this, they  have initiated a drive to raise funds for this noble cause. Umakant Kamble, a employee in a private firm who was part of the initiative has stated that they have formed small pool of funds by reaching out contacts and friends. Kishor Mankar, a forest officer by profession has stated that a women self help group, Babasaheb Ambedkar National Association of Engineers(BANAE) and individuals from different places contributed sums ranging from Rs.1000 to 25000 each.
However, these funds are not enough for meeting the expenses and Hemant Sutey, and a former executive engineer Vijay Gawande bear the major expenses.Sutey has contributed visa fee of Rs.86000 while Gawande has taken a loan of Rs.76000.Kamble has remarked that when they realised the deprived condition of the Rahul, they have got the call of humanity and decided to support Rahul. He added that Rahul has applied to the SC/ST scholarship and when he receive money he will return the money to all those who were contributed for his journey, this way needless to say, a culture to pay back will start.
