‘Importance of good presentation is paramount in the life of a Chartered Accountant’- said CA Sandeep Jotwani, Past Chairman, Nagpur Branch of ICAI while speaking as a Chief Guest at a seminar organized by Nagpur Branch of WICASA of ICAI. With expectations galore from Chartered Accountants, it is imperative in current scenario to develop and work on interpretation and presentation skills. While narrating his own experience during his journey as a CA Student, he reminisced that he was recognized on multiple occasions only because of his vocabulary and his presentation skills. CA Jotwani said that in the life of a Chartered Accountancy student whenever he/she appears for an exam, an interview or when on an audit; like any other skill, one must take the effort to work on his/her presentation skills. Time is the essence for all types of works, he said and thus to be successful one needs to be focussed and strive for perfection.
The aim of this seminar was to equip CA students with the skills to effectively present paper in seminar and conferences. CA Sandeep Jotwani lead the students step-by-step to perfecting their presentation by providing them with valuable points on the content of the paper and how to fulfil its purpose of providing the reader with value addition, on speaking skills and on how to look presentable and appropriate for the occasion. The speaker congratulated team WICASA 2019 for this unique seminar which will benefit the students in the long run to enhance their personality.
Suren Duragkar, Chairman of Nagpur Branch of ICAIstated that ‘The true art of presentation can only be perfected by learning the minute nuances and etiquettes and practising them’. He also explained that it takes years to feel completely at ease before a mic and that its best that students start taking the efforts at perfecting this art from this early stage.’ He praised the efforts of the WICASA committee led by CA Sanjay M. Agrawal, Chairman Nagpur Branch of WICASA and congratulated them for the uniqueness of the seminar and encouraged them to keep organising such student-benefitting seminars
Sanjay M. Agrawal, Chairman of Nagpur Branch of WICASA, in his welcome address mentioned that ‘speaking before a bunch of people maybe easy but speaking before an engaged auditorium and delivering value added content to the listeners is a mammoth task’. It takes a lot of efforts to make it perfect. We at WICASA planned to conduct such self-development programmes to better prepare our students and make them ready for the competition they will face in the future.’ He promised to extend any other kind of support needed in training the students to better their presentation skills.
The seminar was very well received by students who were eager to learn the art of effective presentation and develop the necessary skills required for the same.
