In order to make Orange city a clean city again Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has taken strict action against several educational institutions, coaching classes, clinics, hospitals, pathology labs, malls, cafes, lodging, boarding hotels, cinema halls, mall offices, caterers and other service providers for not maintaining a hygiene and for using open spaces as their disposal of trash.
It has come to notice of civic body that these people have been using public places as their dumping yard. NMC has provided a data of 1607 such institutions have been found littering in open space between December 11, 2017 to October 31, 2019.
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation even deployed a nuisance detection squad to take action against the miscreants for violating the rules under the guidance of Virsen Tambe.
NMC has even imposed fine on 777 such institutes and has collected around Rs 5.87 lakh from different educational institutes. Apart from this NMC has collected 1.97 lakh fines from of 120 pathology labs, hospitals, medical stores. Whereas 13.10 lakh fines was collected from 710 different catering services, theaters, hotels, hostels. A total of 20.94 lakh fine have been collected from 1607 such institutes.
Nagpur city is renowned as a beautiful city all over the country. Citizens must play a vital role in keeping our city green, beautiful and clean. Therefore, the NMC has appealed to the citizens that the citizens should be careful not to make any nuisance and if any such incident happened it should be reported to the municipal nuisance detection team or sanitation department.
