Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will be strengthening its claws as on from November 15 as the segregated garbage will be collected from the houses of Nagpurians. Citizens are expected to separate the garbage into dry and wet material categories. This will help sanitary workers to process the garbage further after the collection. This action is being done to improve the condition of Nagpur city and convert it into a Smart and Clean City.
Civilians are in full support of this new plan of NMC. Nagpurians are actually coming forward in support of this action. NMC officials have appealed that people should start keeping two separate dustbins for two separate categories of garbage. This will help the sanitary workers at the time of garbage collection to segregate the trash.
Surbhi Jaiswal, team leader of Green vigil Foundation said, “mixed garbage not only harms the environment but also invites germs and chronic diseases through bacteria. The segregated waste is easy to recycle. This will ultimately lead to a healthier environment. Now how seriously the citizens adhere segregation process is the real dealâ€.
