It has been reported that the revenue generated through Aapli Bus is decreasing from the last three months. On the contrary, the NMC has claimed that the Aapli bus is making profit, but in reality they have not taken any steps to find a solution for this problem. As per information, the TD expenditure is increasing by lakhs of rupees and raises eyebrows regarding the functioning of the system.Earlier,in July 2019,the Aapli bus revenue through sale of tickets was Rs.6.86 crore and the department expenditure was Rs 10.25 crore.
In August the revenue was Rs.6.39 crore while expense was Rs.11.95 crore. In September the revenue was Rs.6 .14 crore and expense was Rs.15.08 crore. All these clearly shows that the revenue from sale of tickets in three months has decreased by Rs.24.82 crore while the expenditure has increased by Rs.5.08 crore from July to September. Due to this situation, every finger is pointing towards the transport department.
For some months, the drive for ticket checking is not carried out properly and an adverse effect has been created on the revenue of the Aapli Bus.In its 2019-20 budget it has made a provision of Rs.108 crore for the services. However they could not improve the services rather transport department faced loss.
