The offline fee for a trip in Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) has been increased from November 9. Earlier the cost for a trip in buffer zone in TATR was rupees 1000 which has been increased to 2000 recently. In addition to this the core area charges have also been increased, the rates which were earlier 2000 now that has been increased to 3000.
The increased rates have made the tourists spend rupees 4,550 for on spot booking which will include 2,000 as gypsy charges and 350 as the guide fee. The same trip earlier cost just rupees 3,550, similarly core area offline safari will cost rupees 6,050 including rupees 2,700 for gypsy and rupees 350 as guide fee.
The management of TATR told TLN that the objective is to discourage people who come during the final hours of admission in the jungle.
The tourists however are very much disappointed on this decision and are comparing the forest management with the corporate sector, saying that the forest department is busy making more money and not providing any benefits or facilities to its tourist.
