Recently the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has conducted many raids on the transport, stock, and sale of flavoured tobacco and kharra but in vain. Despite all the efforts taken by the department, the trade is flourishing. Though there is no production of tobacco in the state, tobacco products worth crores of rupees are imported to the city from the nearby states. On the contrary, there is no clear evidence of about the fact that who is supporting the vendors of the tobacco. Even the FDA is not serious about the problem. And this carless attitude in true sense aggravated the issue.

Mainly the areas like Dhantoli, Mahal, Reshimbagh, and Manewada. And the citizens have asked the authorities to take proper action against all these people. The FDA is not taking the strict action against them and due to this; they are not feared about the department.
The sale of tobacco near educational institutions are also prohibited under section 6(b) of the Cigarette and other Tobacco Products Sales Act 2003. However, the sale of tobacco products are increased near the schools and colleges in the city.
As per information, the tobacco addiction among adults is high and now even the children are attracted to it.
