Everything changes with the passage of time. The same is happening with the historical Nagbhid-Itwari narrow gauge train running in Nagpur division of South East Central Railway. As per information, this train will make his last journey on November 24, after that it will find a place in the pages of history. As per the sources, this narrow gauge route will be soon converted into Nagpur-Nagbhid broad gauge within two years.
The Narrow-gauge train which has commenced its journey from Nagpur, Gondia and Chanda Fort from Nagbhid in 1913.During British rule, senior officials from England used to stay at Nagbhid whose names are still seen offices even today. In those times, the main headquarters of BNR Railway was in Garden Reach, Kolkata.After the separation of the zone the head office was shifted into Bilaspur.It is expecting that after it will turn into a broad gauge station the importance of the station will be increased. Railway officials have informed that the superfast and express trains will be run from Nagbhid for Mumbai, Kolkata, Trivandrum, New Delhi and Jagannathapuri.
The areas like Chichpalli, Tolewahi, Kelzar, Mindala, Kirmiri Mendha, Bramhapuri, Chicholi, Wadsa in Chandrapur district and travellers from Gadchiroli, Paoni and Lakhandur will get benefit from this train service when it converted into broad gauge route.
