Violation of the plastic ban has led to action against the sale and sale of plastic in city. So far, 199 people have been prosecuted by the Municipal Investigation Team and the zonal level team. In particular, criminal activity has been taken against one of the shopkeepers in Lakshminagar.
The squad, led by Veersen Tambe of the Nuisance Investigation Team, is in the process of carrying out a plastic ban across the city. Nagpur Municipal Corporation has deployed a nuisance detection team. A squad has been appointed at the zone level and this consists of five persons.
A nuisance search team and a zoological team took action against 1298 people between June 23, 2018 and November 15, 2019 and have collected a fine of Rs. 66, 90,300.
Notices have been issued to 94 people in the operation while 23910.220 kg of plastic has been seized from the entire operation.
Out of all the ten zones maximum numbers of violators were from the Asinagar Zone. In the Asinagar Zone, a maximum of 218 people were arrested and notices were issued to 21 of them. A total of 814.070 kilograms of plastic was seized from Asinagar zone and a fine of Rs. 12,10,000.
The Nuisance Team has taken action against 191 people in Dharampeth zone and has collected a fine of Rs. 9; 93,000.During the drive, notices has been issued to 9 persons and 1546.400 kilograms of plastic has been seized.
A total of 2049.255 kilograms of plastic was seized where as a hefty fine of Rs. 9,52,000 has been collected on Tuesday. During the drive 151 people were charged and notices were issued to 16 people.
