November 21 was marked as the last working day of Nanda Jichkar as a Mayor of Nagpur city, on this occasion a press meet was held in the Mayor chamber at Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) headquarter. The press meet was to thank all the personality and agencies who have supported Jichkar during her tenure as the city Mayor.
Jichkar during the speech describing her experience as a Mayor said, “When I got elected for this seat I had to face many issues in a day and was not used to it in the beginning, but with the help of people from the press I got the idea of many things and was very aware of the affairs happening around the city. From the litter box being handled irresponsibly to solving issues over tax disputes press has been there for me in each time of need. Besides them, Praveen Datke and Chandrashekhar Bawankule have also been active with my work related to NMC. During my tenure, it happened for the first time that the properties of the tax defaulter were seized and was put on auction, added Jichkar.
The corporators from the same party and even from the opposition were also thanked for their support during the press meet. Jichkar also thanked the NGO’s who came forward for maintaining the green coat of the city and even the doctors who helped and worked hard in the government hospitals.
