An incident that happened recently has created a disgrace for the city police, after a probationary PSI of Panchpaoli police station ran away after taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a city contractor.
The probationary PSI identified as, Shankar.S. Bonde had demanded money (Rs 2 Lakh) from the complainant Lalvendra Singh a contractor for clearing the documents of his new shop at Jaswant Inox Cinema Hall Indora Chowk. Following the demand of Bonde, Lalvendra brought the issue to the notice of Superintendent of Police of ACB Suresh Rashmi Nandekar.
Nandekar  immediately ordered an inquiry in this matter and planned to nab Bonde red-handed. In order to keep the action a secret, the ACB sent a Bhandara team to lay the trap.
Bonde had asked the complainant to bring Rs 50,000 out of 2 lakh. Singh reached Panchpaoli Police station with the cash and gave it to Bonde.
Meanwhile, Bonde felt something fishy and soon he realised that ACB officers are approaching the station gate and he fled from the station.
Search for Bond is underway. Three teams have been sent to various places to search for the accused. Due to this action by the Superintendent of Police, there is been a tremendous uproar in the police department.
