Ritika Thaker and her Mumbai partner Simran Singhi entered the second round of the on going ecogreen Syed Modi International Badminton tournament in progress in Lucknow. Ritika and Simran defeated Ningshi Hazarika and Thanushree Ramesh in straight games, the score reading 21/13 and 21/12 the match lasting 31 mins. In the second round they meet the winners of Riya Mookerjee , Anura Prabhudesia and Shruti Mishra and Samruddhi Singh tomorrow.
It may be mentioned that this is the most prestigious international tournament played on Indian soil. Only one more shuttler apart from Ritika got entry in this BWF World Tour super 300 level tournament that is Mudgha Agrey who is in the main draw in the womens singles.  Ritka Thaker is a student of Hislop College and trains under Robin Simon and Ajay Dayal.
