Gondwana Club-MOIL women’s tennis tourney  from Friday

Gondwana Club in association with MOIL is hosting  an open  tournament exclusively for women of 35+age category  from Friday onwards.

Indore’s Neelam Chopra has been given  the top seeding for the singles category. City’s Rajeshree Jaiswal is the second seed followed by Ahmedabad’s Manisha Mehta and Indore’s Kashish Satwani. Apart from singles, the tourney will have matches in doubles and mixed doubles category.

Around 30 players from cities across the country — Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Nashik, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Indore will be seen in action during the three-day tournament. Four city players will also be vying for the top honours in the meet which carries a prize money Rs 1.20 lakh.

The tournament will be inaugurated by Saket Daga, president, Gondwana Club, and Usha Singh, director HR, MOIL. Jatin Kale, sports in-charge of Gondwana Club, and Rakesh Tumane, director finance of MOIL, will also be present during the inauguration function. Ashok Bhiwapurkar is the tournament director while Vijay Shahane will be officiating as the chief referee. Rajeshree Jaiswal is the organizing secretary of the tournament.
