Nagpur’s para badminton player Abhishek Shalya is set to create history by becoming the first para badminton player from Nagpur to participate at the international level.
Abhishek has been participating at the Brazil Para Badminton International 2026, a BWF-sanctioned international tournament scheduled to be held from 27 July to 1 August 2026 at the Brazilian Paralympic Training Centre, São Paulo, Brazil.
A dedicated athlete of Shuttlers Craze Sports Academy (SCSA), Nagpur, Abhishek has consistently displayed exceptional commitment, discipline, and fighting spirit on and off the court. His inspiring journey reflects perseverance, determination, and an unwavering passion for the sport.
He trains at Mankapur Stadium, Nagpur, under the guidance of BWF Certified Coach and Head Coach of Shuttlers Craze Sports Academy, Chetak Khedikar, along with the dedicated coaching team of SCSA. Their scientific training methods and continuous support have played a vital role in shaping his career as a para badminton player.
Earlier, Abhishek earned selection for the National Para Badminton Championship based on his outstanding performances at the state level. He participating at the international level marks a historic milestone not only in his sporting journey but also for Nagpur’s badminton fraternity.
