Hundreds of students, youth activists and citizens gathered at Samvidhan Square in Nagpur on Monday to express solidarity with social activist Sonam Wangchuk and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke. The demonstrators raised slogans demanding justice, accountability and reforms in the education system while calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protest was part of a nationwide wave of demonstrations being held in support of Wangchuk and Dipke amid the ongoing agitation over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations.
Protesters carried placards and banners, urging the Centre to address the concerns raised by the movement and ensure transparency in the country’s examination process. Speakers at the gathering praised Wangchuk’s hunger strike and Dipke’s campaign, describing them as symbols of a larger fight for students’ rights, fairness and democratic accountability. The demonstration remained peaceful under police supervision before concluding with a collective appeal for immediate action from the Union government.
