Dental Surgeons from Nagpur were honoured in their respective fields in a recently conducted Famdent Excellence in Dentistry Awards (FEDA)-2019 in Mumbai.
FEDA recognizes the highest standards of contributions in dental profession making it India’s most coveted dentistry awards promoting the profession’s intellectual, creative and ethical value systems.
Dr Ramakrishna Shenoi is Vice Dean and Professor, PG and PhD guide (Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery) in VSPM’s Dental College and Research Centre, Dr Pratima Shenoi, Head of Department of Conservative Dentistry received Special Jury award for academicians of the year.
Dental Council of India (DCI) member from Maharashtra and Associate Professor in Government Dental College and Hospital, Dr Darshan Dakshindas was felicitated with highly commendable award as the ‘Outstanding Dentist Of The Year’. Dr Dakshindas recently has travelled across many dental institutes and interacted with more than 1,000 dental students with his talk on anti-ragging and alcohol and tobacco abuse in student fraternity.
The Special Jury Award for Specialist in the field of Endodontic was bagged by Dr Deepa Thakur, Senior Lecturer in Swargiya Dadasaheb Kalmegh Smriti Dental College. Best Student of the Year (PG) highly recommended award was given to Dr Purabi Edbor, a prodigy III MDS student pursuing her Masters in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontic in VSPM’s Dental College under the guidance of Dr Pratima Shenoi.
Dr Anil Arora, Advisor to Famdent, ex-Dean Dr Sabita Ram, ex-Dean Dr Sharad Kokate and renowned Implantologist Dr Kumarswamy were amongst the few dignitaries present at the Award ceremony at The Club in Andheri, Mumbai.
