Nowadays ‘Onion’ is in the real sense has become dearer than other things. It has been reported that the onion prices touched Rs.120 for one kg in the local vegetable markets on Thursday. The all-time onion is now missing from most of the cuisines.  As per information, the skyrocketing price of the onions comes after the wholesale rates got in the range of Rs.70 to Rs.90 per one kg.One week ago the rates were in the range of Rs.60 to Rs.70 kg in bulk markets.
And the retail price is said to be Rs.100 per kg.The prices have now touched Rs.90 a kg in the farm produce market itself. The large amount of damaged stock in the market is really creating the hike in the price of onions. As per information, after Independence, it is for the second time that onion prices have gone to three digit figure in the retail and wholesale market.
