Nagpurians on Saturday experienced the miracle of strong will power through the spectacular performances by persons with disability at Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav. The differently-abled people performed Indian Classical Dance, giving a strong message of grace, strength, and elegance. These Indians with disabilities prove that Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.
Miracle on Wheels, the world’s first classical wheelchair dance theatre production company presented ‘Dance on Wheels’ at Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education ground.
All the nine performances presented by the group had confirmed that the performers were not disabled but extraordinary abled. For them Wheel Chair was not the symbol of disability but a chariot of Lord Krishna.
Dr Sayed Salauddin Pasha, a social Worker and educationalist had discovered, nurtured, rehabilitated and showcased the outstanding abilities of those with special needs through Dance on Wheels programme.
With the motto ‘Skill isWill’, both Dr Sayed S Pasha and his wife Mihira Jaan Pasha presented a spectacular event through their empowered differently-abled students with skills and talents with confidence and demonstrated how these special persons could lead an inclusive, independent and dignified life.
Event, Gauri Kappal a creative pianist and versatile artist gave a real musical treat to music lovers. Started with the song Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, Gauri beautifully presented old and new melodies on a piano.She presented a blend of professionalism and subtle rhythm to every tune she played. The recital was Gauri’s ode to love, the purest expression of human existence, and she had chosen to play some timeless Bollywood classics that have come to be synonymous with love and longing, romance and desire.
She presented songs like Ajeeb Dasta Hai Ye, Pukarata Chala Hu Mein, Aayega Aayega aayega Anewala; Mera Juta Hai Japani, Bekarar Kar Ke Hume Yu Na Jaayiye, Pyar Hua, Ikarar Hua; Ude Jab Jab JulpheTeri, Hai Aapna Dil To Awara, O Meri Johrajabi, Aaja Sanam Madhur Chandani Mein Hum, RamayyaVastaVayya, Meine Tere Liye Hi Saat Raang Ke Sapne Chune, Gore Gore O Bake Chhore, Jane Kaha Mera Dil Gaya ji, etc.
