It has been reported that to maintain the proper condition of Ravi Bhavan cottages round the year, it is proposed to let them out barring the period of Winter Session of State Legislature.
Ramraje Nimbalkar, Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council has raised the issue during a review meeting chaired by him along with Speaker Nana Patole and Deputy Chairperson Neelam Gorhe on Sunday at Vidhan Bhawan.
He also suggested creating separate organisations named Vidhan Bhavan Nagpur to implement the above suggestion. According to him, barring the session period, the cottages at Ravi Bhavan, Nag Bhavan remains unoccupied and PWD incurs huge bills in maintaining it. Joint CP Kadam said that 54 CCTV cameras are affixed at strategic positions in Ravi Bhawan and MLA Hostel. Also at various morcha stoppage points drinking water arrangements is also made and city police have received request from 45 organisations for taking out morchas and 33 organisations would stage dharna.
Deputy Chairperson Gorhe made a suggestion about deployed of woman assistants and helpers at MLA Hostel. Further she directed officials to make note with consent of MLAs who prefer to reside at Hostel. Senior officials of State Legislature, Secretariat, State Government officials for the one week long Winter Session that commences from Monday in city. Rajendra Bhagwat, Principal Secretary, State Legislature, Ravindra Kadam, Joint Commissioner of Police, V D Sardeshmukh, Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, Sudesh Meshram, Manager, Government Printing Press, Ravindra Jagdale, Addl. Secretary, State Assembly, Mahesh Chimate, Chief Security Officer, and other officers were present during the meeting.
