Celebrated lensman Vinay Thakur lauds the winners of ISA MOSTRA portraits competition.“I congratulate the winners for their outstanding work”, said the renowned photographer Mr. Vinay Thakur at the closing ceremony of ISA MOSTRA portraits; an international photography competition and exhibition.The event took place on 15 December 2019 at Jawaharlal Darda Art Gallery at the conclusion of the two-day exhibition.
Addressing the budding photographers from the city, Mr. Thakur also spoke about the changes in technology that have changed the field of photography over time. “To give the effect of a painting, photographers had to actually paint on the image and then re-develop it. but all that can be done on computersâ€, “he explained.
Mr. Vinay Thakur attended the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest. Notable activist and Global ambassador for HIV patients Ms. Jyoti Dhawale, also known as JoDha Hukum was the Guest of Honour at the event.Mr. Alok Avinash from Purulia, Mr. Sanjoy Sengupta from Muscat, Oman, and Ms. Ayushi Dani from Nagpur won the first, second and third prizes respectively. Master Divyanshu Dutta won first prize from the School Students’ category. The winners were awarded with memento, medals, certificates and cash prizes.
ISA MOSTRA Portraits is the fourth Photography Exhibition and Competition, organized by Arohanam Art Society, under the aegis of Nagpur Photography Club. The Art Society has organized four exhibitions and competitions since 2015.
This competition was declared open on 15 October 2019 and the deadline of submitting entries was 22 November 2019.Mr. GMB Akash, an internationally renowned photojournalist from Bangladesh examined the entries.Mr. Akash has received over 100 international accolades and his work has been featured in over 100 major international publications including: National Geographic, Vogue, Time.The closing ceremony of the event will take place on 15 December 2019 at 6:30 p.m.
Mr. Vinay Thakur is an internationally renowned photographer. He is also the author of the coffee table book, “Architecture of Justiceâ€, which captures the beautiful architecture of the old High Courts and The Supreme Court of India. Jyoti Dhawale, is a Karamveer Chakra Awardee.
