After the Central Railway has introduced Mainline Electrical Multiple Unit (MEMU) on Nagpur-Amravati route, it has been reported that another MEMU train would shortly run between Nagpur-Bhusawal route. MEMU has in built advantages as it can accelerate faster after stopping at railway station in comparison to conventional ICF rake which are slow moving. These trains can run up to maximum 105/km ph so it would help in fast reaching the destination.
As per information, two rakes of 16 coaches each were received at Nagpur Division and one of it was diverted to Bhusawal Division for replacing the conventional rake that is currently in operation. With the introduction of MEMU it is expected to ensure faster travel between the two cities of Vidarbha.And it has to be noted that the MEMU rake on Bhusawal-Nagpur route too is likely to be commissioned within a month or so.
Earlier, Nagpur Division had conducted the oscillation trails of two MEMU rakes in ghat section with help of team of Railway Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO).
